Agent OTT release date: Malayalam superstar Mammootty played a crucial part in Akhil Akkineni's spy thriller, which is finally going to release on OTT.  The streaming platform Sony LIV shared that the film is finally hitting the platform soon.

Agent OTT release date: And the awaited film will finally be released on OTT. The Telugu action spy thriller film starring Mammootty and Akhil Akkineni was first shown in theaters on April 28, 2023. The public's and critics' reactions to the movie were then mixed however many were anticipating the film’s OTT release and it's finally set to happen. Agent will be released on Sony Liv on 14th March 2025.

Plot

Akhil plays an ethical hacker in the movie who aspires to become a RAW agent. He is eventually brought on board to stop an operation conducted by a renegade agent after multiple failed efforts.

Cast and crew

Based on a screenplay by Vakkantham Vamsi, Agent is directed by Surender Reddy and produced by AK Entertainments' Anil and Rambrahmam Sunkara. Mammootty and Akhil Akkineni play the main characters in the movie. While Urvashi Rautela had a particular song, Agent also featured Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, Vikramjeet Virk, Denzil Smith, Sampath Raj, Murali Sharma, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others.

Why was the release delayed?

According to OTTPlay, the movie has previously made a number of these formal announcements, but each time it was pushed forward. A distributor who had lost a significant sum of money on the theatrical rights obtained a stay order, which reportedly caused the film's OTT release to be postponed. A financial conflict between the streaming platform and the creators was also reported. 

Despite having a budget of almost Rs 80 crore, Agent failed to reach the Rs 10 crore milestone at the box office.
