YG Entertainment has unveiled its highly anticipated lineup of activities for the second half of 2025, stirring excitement among fans. In a video released on May 26, founder Yang Hyun Suk shared detailed plans for some of the agency's top acts — including BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, and TREASURE — as well as two new trainee groups preparing for debut.

While BLACKPINK's world tour, titled DEADLINE, is set to begin in July, fans were eagerly awaiting news of a musical comeback. In the video, Yang Hyun Suk confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are currently preparing to release a new song, but a specific release date has yet to be confirmed. However, he assured that an official announcement is on the way.

BLINKs left disappointed

While the combination of a comeback and a global tour has heightened anticipation among BLINKs worldwide, many also questioned why BLACKPINK was even mentioned in the announcement if Yang Hyun Suk was only going to give a vague answer about their return.

Some took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to also point out that it's just a new song and not a full album. As of August 2023, BLACKPINK has officially released only 32 songs as a group — 22 in Korean and 10 in English — despite being active for nearly eight years.

One fan said, "They shouldn't have even included BP in the video — 10 seconds for nothing."

Another wrote, "The way that comeback isn't even remotely happening next month — would YG really let BLACKPINK overshadow BABYMONSTER's comeback on July 1?"

One commented, "We are so tired. BLACKPINK deserves a comeback with a full album. They’re YG’s biggest moneymaker."

Another added, "Announcing a tour without a new album is embarrassing. They can’t even pick a date for a single release."

One fan noted, "They will announce a date for a new song. That means it's just one song — no new BLACKPINK album this year. He talked about TREASURE and BABYMONSTER's albums, but said nothing about BLACKPINK's."

Another stated, "YG wants money sooo bad — they're rushing the tour, and now the comeback is dateless? WTF?!"

Other YG Entertainment announcement

BABYMONSTER is set to return with "HOT SAUCE" on July 1, followed by another pre-release in September and a four-track mini album on October 1. Meanwhile, TREASURE is gearing up for a mini album release on September 1, with a world tour starting in October.

New talent at YG Entertainment

Yang Hyun Suk revealed YG is training two boy groups and two girl groups, with one boy group expected to debut in 2026. He's especially eager to debut a four-member girl group earlier, with members being introduced one by one starting May 28. Solo releases for the group are also planned for next year.
