Kannivedi OTT Release Update: Soon after the success of her film Maamannan, National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh announced this now-highly-anticipated project. The movie will mark the directorial debut of Ganesh Raj. While the release date is yet to be announced, Netflix has secured the streaming rights of Kannivedi and will stream it after the film's theatrical run concludes.

Everything we know so far about Kannivedi

This women-centric tech thriller revolves around a media student (played by Keerthy) who has aspirations of becoming a prominent journalist. However, her journey takes an unexpected turn when she begins to investigate a news story, only to find herself entangled in something far beyond her control. The title translates to "a spectacle for the eyes" in Tamil and hints at the film's visual appeal.

Director Ganesh Raj, a former assistant to directors Ram and Hari, describes the film as a story that will entertain audiences with its thrills and suspense, noting that the narrative is sure to be a standout in the genre. Alongside Keerthy, VJ Rakshan plays her friend. The film also stars Visaaranai-fame Ajay Ghosh and Namita Krishnamurthy in pivotal roles.

Kannivedi has onboarded an impressive technical team, with cinematography by Madhesh Manickam, known for his work on Taanaakkaran. The film's editing is handled by JV Manikanda Balaji, whose experience in films like Iraivan and Manithan has been widely appreciated. Art direction by Sakthee Venkatraj and editing by Eford will further contribute to the film's immersive aesthetic.

Produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu under their banner Dream Warrior Productions, Kannivedi began its journey with a ceremonial pooja in Chennai back in 2023. Director Ganesh Raj shared that the film would officially begin shooting on July 22 that year. The film is expected to be a Tamil-language release, with potential plans for dubbed versions in other languages once the shoot is completed.
